THE SEASON & PROGRAMME

11–17 JULY 2008@HACKNEY EMPIRE THEATRE
Welcome to There Ain't No Black In The Union Jack
, inspired by
the book of the same name by Paul Gilroy. A season of new, home grown
political theatre, performance, music and happenings, exploring themes
relating to home, place, identity, displacement, flags, anthems, imperialism,
race, belonging, 'unbelonging', cosmopolitanism, community, cultural
diversity, race, personal histories, and what it means to be British today.
This is your chance to see, feel and hear what the younger generation
(15-30) thinks about these issues.
